AFC Energy Annual Report 2020

We’ve recently finished AFC Energy’s 2020 Annual Report. This was an incredibly exciting year for them, as after years of research and development they have commercialised and brought their products to market with significant contracts to manufacture their hydrogen technology.

Perhaps most notably they are going to be supplying their new hydrogen-powered alkaline fuel cell system to the Extreme E racing series – a brand new motor sport, racing souped-up electric SUVs in extreme environments, to raise awareness of the climate crisis. Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button all have their own teams, Button actually driving his own team’s car.

An exciting and transformational year needed a design to match and whilst they didn’t have a visual language as such, we have brought new energy by adding some brighter colours to their colour palette and vignettes to reflect movement and progress. At the same time, it was important that they look credible (which they are), so there was a balance to be found.

Early reports have been that their shareholder response to Annual Report has been excellent.

Within weeks of the annual report’s launch, AFC Energy secured a Memorandum of Understanding with Altaaqa Alternative Solutions in the Far East and a strategic partnership with Mace to help decarbonise the
construction industry.
